Springfield Hockey Hall of Fame
The opening face-off for professional hockey in Springfield was in 1926. Seventy years later, the Springfield Falcons Hockey Club established a commitment to the history of hockey in Springfield when they founded the Springfield Hockey Hall of Fame.
There have been eight Springfield Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremonies held at Falcons games between 1996 and 2008. Commemorative plaques honoring the inductees are on permanent display inside the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
The Society would also like to thank the people who have been a part of the Hall of Fame Committees since 1996 (in alphabetical order): Dick Baker, Dave Drinan, Gene McCormick (in memoriam), Pat Pompei, Sam Pompei (in memoriam) and Eddie "Ted" Shore, Jr. We would also like to express our appreciation to the Society for International Hockey Research for the use of some statistical and biographical information.
