Cox led the Springfield Indians to the 1928 Fontaine Cup as champions of the Canadian-American Hockey League.
An early day "money" goaltender, Cox's goals against average in the playoffs of both '26-'27 and '27-'28 led all CAHL goaltenders. His 24 regular season victories led the league in '27-'28.
After his playing career, he skated as an IAHL linesman from 1937-1939.
